10/10 staff
I attended here for a work conference and was very impressed with the staff, especially a lady named Erika. She was very accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable of her role.
A gift with memories
It was a very relaxing day. We were given a lunch voucher by the spa staff. The only downside was that I didn't receive my glass of prosecco, and I didnt realise until I arrived home to look at the booking. However, Lois made my day with a most excellent massage (head and back) and a mini facial. Hot and cold, exfoliation and oils and getting rid of a persistent knot in my shoulder was a most wonderful way to spend and hour or so. There was an additional bonus to being able to alight from my chair without the ache in my hips afterwards. Lois was a very cheerful, experienced massager, so thank you. Dunston Hall was very pleasant and there was ample room to park. All the staff made us feel very welcome.
Great group visit location
I organised a group of 22 people from our car club to stay at Dunston Hall over the weekend while we explored the region. The hotel is delightful and has great character. The staff are all very helpful and noting is too much trouble. Food is good and they catered well for our big group. All our participants were full of praise for our hotel choice. Thoroughly recommend this place.
Massage
I had a lovely spa day with my friend. Both had a massage and use of the pool and facilities. Haley was very professional and I left the massage thoroughly relaxed. 5*
Outstanding - with fantastic staff.
We had a wonderful time - room was nice and quiet, food was outstanding, the spa beautiful. One not so good aspect was the endless loud disco in the lovely bar area - bearing in mind it was occupied by mostly grey haired people it seems a shame shouting was required to make oneself heard over the music. The staff were wonderful - Lewis was very good in the restaurant. We will be back!
Jacob the Pianist was incredible!!
Jacob the pianist was the highlight of our trip. We had a delicious dinner and then sat for drinks and dessert watching Jacob play the piano and take requests from us. He was so talented and was able to play anything we requested. Absolutely invaluable and we loved this entertainment - thank you Jacob!
Fred at dinner was great
Beautiful stay and dinner - Fred was fantastic at dinner: 5* service!
Amazing
When we arrived the reception staff immediately arranged for our room to be made ready for early check in while we waited we had a complimentary drink and afternoon tea was amazing and to top it off me and my daughter had an amazing massage by Rachel who was very good so far all staff have been friendly and helpful going above and beyond
Lovely staff and a memorable experience
I recently visited this hotel for a spa weekend getaway with my mum, and we had such a lovely experience. From the moment we arrived, every single member of the staff made us feel welcome and well-cared for. The highlight of the trip was definitely the massage. I had explained to the team beforehand that I had never had a massage before, and I was quite nervous. I was lucky enough to be booked with Victoria, who was absolutely amazing. She took the time to explain everything, listened to my concerns, and made me feel completely comfortable and at ease throughout the entire treatment. The whole weekend was a fantastic experience, and we are already talking about coming back again. Highly recommended!
Lovely place!
Went as part of a coach trip with GB Tours. The hotel is beautiful, very large, Victorian- built in a mock Tudor style. Our room was very nice, a large corner room, good accessibility as the friend with me has mobility issues. The room was very clean and serviced daily. The food was excellent, plenty of choice and good portions. The staff were very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful grounds and has a golf course attached. There are spa and pool facilities, which we personally didn't try, but the option was there. All in all, a lovely place to stay.
Spa day
The location atmosphere was beautiful!! My therapist I had for my treatments Lois was very friendly and easy to talk with , I had a facial and then a neck scalp shoulder massage. The massage was brilliant and I wasn’t startled by any movements at all Infact was that relaxed I fell asleep , ending each movement finishing at the temples definitely helps promote the relaxation, overall I’m very happy and definitely will visit again . Thank you
Spa
Went with family for my sisters birthday and got a back massage/ facial. Holy moly it was the best message I’ve ever had. Lois is the one to go for! She has a lovely atmosphere and makes you feel so comfortable. All questions were asked with the upmost professionalism. I cannot fault her! Will definitely come back again!
Amazing retreat!
We had an amazing time here. The location and atmosphere was perfect for what we wanted. The hotel itself is stunning. The food was a very high standard and there were some lovely spots to sit and eat Ethan served us dinner and made sure we were well looked after. The spa was quiet and pool a good size. The treatments we had from Vicky and Amy were incredible. Good drinks available at quite reasonable prices. Never had to wait very long atall at the bar and Tim made sure we were looked after here. Highly recomend afternoon tea. Sue served us a lovely Afternoon tea, of which there was plenty to fill us up! The room was clean and tidy. There was a small issue with hot water, but reception sent maintenance down straight away and fixed it. All in all, we are looking forward to another stay.
Excellent breakfast service for coeliac and family friendly
We had a lovely family room for 2 kids and 2 adults with a patio. We pushed one bed against the wall so the littlest wouldn't fall out as the beds are quite high and that worked for us. Breakfast was brilliant. As a coeliac I was worried the buffet would be contaminated but they cooked everything fresh for me and I would particularly like to mention Kristine (red hair and glasses), she stood out as exceptional with allergens compared to any service I have had. I felt she truly made sure everything was made safely for me. The swimming pool was great, no need to book time slots, it's hit or miss how busy it is each day depending on what events are going on. The kids loved it, my 4 year old could tippy toe on the shallow end but happily used his noodle. It felt overall like a very family-friendly place and we enjoyed our time there again. Look for the view upstairs from the balcony, didn't seem to be used when we were there. Photo attached.
A very enjoyable stay
Beautiful surroundings and location. Great service by attentive staff throughout our stay. All round a very pleasant stay.
wedding anniversary
this was an anniversary visit/Dunston hall is a beautiful building the rooms are of a good size the staff are very professional and friendly breakfast is included in your stay and is very good quality with plenty of choice/the area is quiet and peaceful/you also have use of the pool/spa and gym/the only reason i have not given it 5 stars is the meals are on the expensive side otherthan that will be lookinf forward to going back in the near future.
Good value for money
We always enjoy staying here, the rooms are great value. This time we had a spa treatment each which was lovely. The food is decent and well priced but the staff are what make this place special, they all make you feel like a valued guest and go out of there way to make your time there as relaxing as possible.
Help in a crisis
Probably the most considerate and helpful staff you could meet. I was unwell the first morning and they could not have been more helpful to my wife. It was possible I was having a heart attack. Special thanks to Kristie in the breakfast area, Seb the maintenance man and Melissa from reception. Many thanks to you all.
A Fantastic Spa Day
Dunston Hall Ipswich road Norwich is set in the most beautiful ground's, yes a golf course with beautiful gardens and amazing trees and shrubs and perfectly well maintained lawns, can I borrow your gardener please?. The building itself fits perfectly within the ground's with a beautiful and bright entrance leading to a clean and well presented reception area. We were there for a spa day which was incredibly good value for money and received discount with the NHS Blue Light Card, brilliant I must say. We had the full works and taken care off every step of the way, genuinely all the staff were so polite and friendly. We started of with the swimming pool/steam room and sauna area. There are plans to revamp these areas and yes being honest they do need it, the men's showers need updating, some ceiling tiles replaced and some floor area's need attention, that being said everything was clean and kept to a very high standard and considering the wonderful day we had, it was not an issue at all and I'm only commenting on the pool area all other areas were beautifully maintained. We were provided with clean fresh towels and robes and we used our own footwear. We went for the full package, that was a full body massage the pool areas and lunch oh and chill out rooms. My therapist was called Georgia not only did she look beautiful she had a beautiful and kind soul too. She put me at ease from the get go, bearing in mind this was my first time having a massage. I was allowed to get myself in position, so to speak! There was a towel to cover up any embarrassing bits. Warm pads were put over my eyes lovely relaxing background music and even the table was heated. The message lasted for an hour, front to back, toe to head, perfect. After changing we had lunch in the garden room. WOW! So beautiful. The food was lovely, Chicken ceaser salad and some bubbles for me, the Chicken ceaser salad was exactly how it should be with just the right amount of everything and not overly drenched in sauce, Perfection. When you're walking through the corridors/rooms do take a few moments to look around you. The wood work, fire surrounds and the staircases have been so beautiful kept not forgetting the mirrors artwork and pictures, too much to take in on one day so we're going to revisit again very soon. There's plenty of parking spaces too. Just want to say a big thank you to everyone at Dunston Hall for making us feel so welcome, you're all amazing. X Lord Woodford-Price
Lovely weekend
Such a lovely hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had an accessible room and everything in the room made our stay enjoyable. The health club facilities were a bonus. We would definitely stay again. We had lovely food in the restaurant on Friday, the 29th of May and a big shout out to Kieran our waiter for his wonderful service a true credit to the hotel. The breakfast buffet was 10 out of 10 And the grounds of the hotel are extremely pretty. All in all a lovely weekend, thank you very much. We look forward to returning
