Things To Do in Norwich
A great day out awaits.
Already explored our lovely Dunston Hall Hotel Spa & Golf Resort and its grounds? Why not head out into Norwich? Here are a few of some of the most interesting things to do in Norwich. Â
NORWICH CASTLEÂ
10 minute drive from Dunston Hall Â
Dive into Norman history. Â
Completed in 1121, the castle was never lived in by royalty and instead, the keep was used as a county gaol from the 1300s until the late 1700s before a new gaol was built outside the keep. In the 1800s, when the gaol moved to Mousehold Heath, the keep and prison were converted into the museum they are today. Â
THE SHOEBOX EXPERIENCEÂ
Go on one of the many tours offered by Shoebox Experience. Find out all about Norwich’s hidden street, go on the Tipsy Tavern Tour of all the best pubs or explore one of Norwich’s architectural hidden gems.
FLINT LIGHT INSTALLATIONÂ
20 minute drive from Dunston Hall Â
Lose yourself in lights. Â
Flint is the newest installation of the Norfolk Way Art Trail and is located at Norwich Art Centre. The installation is a selection of mirrored totems which reflect the flint walls of the nearby church, showcasing the stone’s importance as part of Norfolk’s landscape. At night, the totems light up, creating a shifting light sequence. Â
SCULPTURE PARK
20 minute drive from Dunston Hall Â
Spend the day amongst sculptures. Â
The Sculpture Park covers the 350 acres surrounding the Sainsbury Centre building at UEA campus. The park offers sculptures designed by leading artists such as Henry Moore, Liliane Lijn and Lynn Chadwick, but you can also enjoy the serene surroundings of the Broad and Yare river valley. Â
